José Manuel Campa, winner of the 2nd edition of the Bernácer Prize

The Committee Members of the Germán Bernácer Prize, Dr. Otmar Issing (Chair), Prof. Miguel Sebastian (Secretary), Prof. Francesco Giavazzi, Dr. Charles Goodhart and Prof Charles Wiplosz  have the pleasure of announcing that:

“The 5th edition of the Germán Bernácer Prize has been awarded to Prof. José Manuel Campa (IESE Business School) for his outstanding research on Echange Rate Behaviour and Internacional Finance”.

José Manuel Campa (Spain)  is a Professor of Financial Management and International Economics at the University of Navarra-IESE. His research interest is based in international finance, macroeconomics, exchange rates and risk management and mergers and acquisitions. He studied Law and Economics at the University of Oviedo and in 1991 he got his PhD in Economics at Harvard University. Between 2009 and 2011 Campa served as Secretary of State for the Economy in the Ministry of Economy and Finances of Spain, a position that allowed him to be one of the heads of the Spanish economy in times of great responsibility.

He has published widely cited papers in leading journals like European Economic Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Financial Services Research, Review of Economics & Statistics, etc.

The award ceremony took place in Alicante, on April 19th, 2004.
